BIGBANG's BiiiG Goes No. 1 on Melon an Hour After Release

Covering: BIGBANG released BiiiG on its 20th debut anniversary and went straight to No. 1 on Melon’s Top 100.

BIGBANG BiiiG 20th anniversary release

BIGBANG released BiiiG at 6 p.m. on Aug. 19, the group’s 20th debut anniversary, and was No. 1 on Melon’s Top 100 an hour later. It is the first new BIGBANG record since Still Life in April 2022.

YG Entertainment billed the digital single as a high-energy hip-hop track. G-Dragon wrote and composed it. The lineup is G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung.

By the morning of Aug. 20 the song was still on top of Melon, Genie, Bugs, and Vibe. YG said the first hour on Melon was the heaviest user count of any 2026 release in that window. Melon’s Top 100 mixes 24-hour listening with the latest hour, so a straight-to-one debut that fast is rare.

The 20th-anniversary run is already on the ground in Seoul. Jamsil has a fan event with a media exhibition, photo zones, an MD shop, and lighting at Seokchon Lake.

The world tour follows the single. BIGBANG 2026-2027 World Tour XX: COSMOS opens Aug. 21–23 at Goyang Stadium. YG has 33 dates in 19 cities across North America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia, with more stops to come. The Goyang shows are sold out.

Twenty years after La La La, the chart is not a nostalgia lap. BiiiG is a new record, on top, with a tour behind it.
